If the Festival is oversubscribed, we may be able to accept only one entry from each group. Accordingly, if entering more than once, please indicate the relative importance to you of each entry.  For large casts, please bear in mind that our host venue, the Barn Theatre, WGC has limited dressing room space,  If yours is a large group (20 or more), please try to be especially flexibile with your available playing days. 

Entry fee to the Festival is £30

If possible, please upload a copy of your script with your entry form.  For devised entries, we require a clear synopsis.  If the play is published, we are not permitted to accept photocopies and you should avoid sending an online copy without the written permission of the copyright holder.

If you cut or alter the submitted script, you will need to provide the final version clearly marked up (together with any author/publisher written permissions) for the adjudicator’s use as early as possible and certainly no later than one week before the Festival opens.

If you are unable to send an online copy of your script, we will require a printed copy ahead of the performance week. Our secretary will advise when and how this should be submitted. We will also ask for printed copies of scripts previously sent online as the adjudicator will need this.

The Festival is willing to reimburse for royalties up to the cost of the entry fee (ie £30) upon receipt of your proof of payment and request for reimbursement sent to our Treasurer (email: treasurer@wgcydf.org) by 31st March 2027.

Running time should be between 20 and 50 minutes for the main festival (see Rules and penalties).

All casts must be aged under 22 on performance date and in year 10 or below for a Junior entry. There are no lower age limits.
